Development Coordinator - Chair, Vacant

The Mission of the Coordinator:
•    Is to provide informative information to the Lakes of Cedar Grove (LCG) community on proposed developments and their impact within the South Fulton Community.
•    To host forums for the community and report directly to Advisory Committee (AC) president.


The Goals are:
•    Educate residents of the LCG on Fulton County’s development process and to effectively empower them to produce change as it relates to proposed development.


The Objectives are:
•    Keep the community informed about development and changes within the subdivision.
•    To attend county meetings to obtain information pertaining to proposed development and disseminate that information to residents

South Fulton 2025 Land Use Plan

The land use plan clearly defines district limits (i.e., commercial, residential, parks & recreation, etc.) and its densities, along with other information.

Overlay Districts

This website allows the user to view all overlay districts within Fulton County and more importantly South Fulton County.

    side, middle ways of the page on Fulton County’s website

  • Step 5.   Under the heading, Maps Online left click twice:
    Map Catalog

  • Step 6.   Welcome to the Fulton County Map Catalog appears

  • Step 7.   Scroll down the page to Overlay Districts and left
    click twice

  • Step 8.  Scroll down the page, on the far left side to South
    Fulton Parkway Overlay Districts & CID’s (large), left click twice

  • Step 9.  The South Fulton Parkway Overlay District & CID
    (large) appears at the top of page, left click twice

  • Step 10.  A map appears that displays all of the overlay
    districts within South Fulton

The above website allows users to determine their overlay district. 
For residents of the Lakes at Cedar Grove (LCG), our overlay district
is the South Fulton Parkway Overlay District.  For the novice, overlay
districts differ not only defined by geographical location but more
importantly by zoning conditions that have been adopted by Fulton
County Planning & Zoning Department. Zoning conditions are
classified as commercial, industrial, residential, etc. and within these
classifications densities are defined.  Needless to say, overlay
districts play a vital role in effecting the comprehensive aesthetics
of a development.

Fulton County GIS

This allows users to access Fulton County Geographical Information System, commonly know as GIS.  GIS is a powerful interactive tool that allows users to access new zoning cases for new developments and other geographical and utility information. This is an extremely useful tool that allows the residents of the Lakes at Cedar Grove (LCG) and other interested users the opportunity to access vital information at the click of a few icons.  This tool will allow the development committee and residents of the LCG the opportunity to influence the development of a project (proactive) by being involved at the conceptual stages of a proposed development.

  • Directions:

  • Step 1:  Type the following address: http://wms.co.fulton.ga.us

  • Step 2.  Fulton County GIS web page appears

  • Step 3.  Under the heading, Interactive Maps left click twice: Zoning / Future Land use

  • Step 4:  Fulton County Zoning / Fulton Land use Query Tool appears

  • Step 5.  Left click once on the, I Agree – Continue to Interactive Map icon

  • Step 6:  From here, the Zoning Land use Map Server appears

  • Step 7.  At the top of the Zoning Land use Map Server in the center, the Active Zoning Case Icon is present

  • Step 8.  Left Click once on the down that is adjacent to the Active Zoning Case Icon arrow and select the following zoning case number: 2005Z-0129

  • Step 9.  The map server will display the location of the proposed development.  For this example, the proposed development is located in the proximity of Campbellton Fairburn Road and Line Creek Road.

  • Step 10.  For additional information regarding the zoning, left click once under the heading Primary Case on the highlighted zoning case number 2005Z-0129.

  • Step 11.  To obtain recommendations from the county’s zoning department left click once under the heading Current Agenda on the highlighted icon Agenda. Then left click once on Current Recommendations / Actions.

  • Step 12.  To obtain a condensed summary of the zoning case and other pertinent left click once on Assignment List.

  • Step 13.  If you are in need of assistance, left click once the Help Icon that appears in the top right corner of the Zoning Land use Map Server.
