On Saturday, the Youth Society met at the clubhouse in it's inaugural kickoff!

Leaders of our community met with the Youth Society and explained their roles in the community and how the Youth Society could assist in those roles. Alanna first introduced the members of our committees, then each one spoke to the Society.

Beatrice Godwin, the new chair for the Society, explained its mission, and began challenging the youth of The Lakes at Cedar Grove to get involved, and how to do that.

After the Youth Society introduced themselves, they split up into groups.

Jacque Thornton organized a Swan origami activity for youth ages 5-10 years old. The Swans will be used as reminders for April 30 Swan Release Celebration.

Alanna then took the 11-14 year old Society members into another group, to create a T-shirt design. The Youth Society T-Shirt logo based on wildlife and natural surroundings they see around Lakes at Cedar Grove.

A Nature Research group for youth 15-18 (Beatrice Goodwin) Youth began taking photos, researching information for a Nature Neighbors Brochure that will have facts on swans, wildlife and habitat around Lakes at Cedar Grove. Afterward, everyone enjoyed Pizza and fellowship!

Thanks to everyone that attended!  And a special thanks to our wonderful sponsors!
