Neighborhood Watch Committee, Latif Fadzi-Chair and Corey Guess-Co-Chair (Notify the Neighborhood Watch at 770-774-8774/404-713-9282 (cell).)
The mission of the Committee: • The Lakes of Cedar Grove (LCG) Neighborhood Watch (NW) Committee is to establish and maintain a cooperative and friendly network of residents working together to protect themselves, their neighbors and their community from crime through organization, education and action.
The Goals are: • To maintain a list of all residents including their addresses, telephone numbers and e-mails for communication purposes. • To ensure that a system is developed for residents to become block captains for each street at the LCG including reporting incidents to the police and to the NW Committee. • To be aware of and report suspicious or unusual behavior to law enforcement and keep the Advisory Committee (AC) President abreast of incidents and issues. • To maintain a log of security problems and to assist residents in resolving those problems. • To maintain crime statistics, for reporting and tracking to the AC. • To have law enforcement attend periodic meetings. • To plan at least one (1) activity for the community that will enhance awareness concerning safety in the community and their individual residents
The Objectives are: • To make each home, streets, and each section in The LCG resistant to crime. We are encouraging all our Block, Sections and Co-Captains to get to know their neighbors. Encouraging unity creates co-operation for the well being of our sub-division. As neighbors become familiar with each other, while developing a block captain structure to report suspicious activity to their section captains (Fulton County Police non emergency number [404-730-7911] or emergency [#911]), the neighborhood will become a safe and livable community. • By becoming a block or co-block captain, you can help strengthen our subdivision to prevent crime and remove the fear factor of crime, work with their neighbors to organize, meet, develop e-mail contacts, a phone tree and encourage participation at the National Night Out (NNO) Against Crime Annual Event which occurs every August 3rd. • Our vision is that each street will appoint someone as the, Block and Co-block captain. The section captains will be appointed by the Chairman & Co-chairman of the neighborhood watch committee. They will be placed on the mailing list and will be included on a phone tree so the chair and co-chair of the NW along with the crime prevention officer can distribute important information on area crime, group meetings, new programs, or other situations concerning our community. The block captains then passes this information to the neighbors on his/her blocks. There should be someone in our community willing to give a small amount of time to this program. Also, let’s be mindful of the speed limit which is 25 miles per hour in our sub-division.

On Friday Sept. 23, 2011 at approximately 7:10am, an older white pick up truck(ford or Chevy)was towing a trailer, that similar of the lawn care providers, was driving up and down Waterlace Dr. near Trumpeter Dr. There were two individuals in the truck and it appeared that they were looking for an address. The truck was very loud like it had dual exhaust on it. They stopped near the stop sign of Trumpeter Dr. and proceeded to remove an ATV (off road vehicle) from one of the residents truck. Their license plate was written down and given to the owner of the stolen property. I am unsure if a police report has been made, however I just want the community to be aware of the type of vehicle that robbers occupied especially being that there have been other break-ins as of late.
