Why move off of Internet Explorer 6 (IE6)? Why should you upgrade?

Microsoft announced the demise of IE6 - about time, I say. There are currently 227 reported

vulnerabilities in IE6.

There are many benefits of upgrading to a newer version of Internet Explorer – improved speed, tabbed browsing, and better privacy settings to name a few.

The web has changed significantly over the past 10 years. The browser has evolved to adapt to new web technologies, and the latest versions of Internet Explorer help protect you from new attacks and threats.

If you compare the differences between IE6 and IE8, you'll see it's a win-win situation:

How do you know what version you are currently running?  In your browser menu bar, click Help, or, in the upper right command bar, click the question mark option, and then click About Internet Explorer.

Personally, I prefer Firefox for web browsing, and this website is optimized for Firefox browsers, but there are other choices such as Chrome.  Apple uses their own web browser, Safari.
